JUGS #153 Stamped Line Art Technique Challenge

Today I’m entering this card in the Just Us Girls #153 Technique Challenge.

The Technique is Stamped Line Art, which means stamp a lined image in ink but with no coloring.

You can watch a great Video by Gina K over at Stamp Tv here and make your version of her fabulous card, like I did.

I cut the card base and layers with Recollections cardstock. Then I used the Inkadinkado Floral Inspiration stamp set for the focal image stamped in Versa Fine Deep Lagoon ink.

The sentiment is from Pink By Design’s Friends to the End stamp set.

The inside sentiment is also from the Friends to the End stamp set.

Good luck everyone! There are some great cards entered in this challenge!

Cricut Cardz Challenge #115 ‘Color Play’

I’m entering this card into the CARDZ TV Cricut Cardz Challenge #115

The Theme:  Red, yellow & blue, any Cricut cartridge.

I used the Mini Monograms cartridge to create the base of the card, I cut out 2 shadow layers and adhered them together. Then I cut out the largest die in the Spellbinders Star Circles, along with the little star.

I made the rocket with the Cricut Lite B is for Boy cartridge and added some Glossy Accents to the window. The rocket is flying by the moon which is made with the pop-up moon Fiskars punch.

The sentiment is from Pink By Design’s Small Things which I embossed in black.

I used red cardstock for the inside, cut out with the Mini Monograms cartridge and cut off the very top to fit.

The Alien also comes from the B is for Boy cartridge, I cut him out at 2″ and added some googly eyes in red, yellow and blue for some fun. The sentiment comes from Pink By Design’s Train Station stamp set.

I will be linking up this post to Sarah Hamer’s Link Up Tuesday, head on over and check out what some talented crafters have been up to.

Happy Piggy Party

So this week Provo Craft had a sneak peek of the new Create a Critter 2 cartridge. They allowed 5 images to be revealed on the Cricut Craft Room for Crafters to use and create with for a few days.

The best part…. make a project, post it on the Cricut Project Center and be entered to win access to the WHOLE library of cartridges on the Cricut Craft Room.

Can you believe that?! Crazy!

So here is my entry.

I call him Happy Piggy Party.

Using the Create a Critter 2 cartridge I cut 2 Piggy Shadow layers at 6″. Then scored one shadow layer at the base of the pig’s ear, folded and adhered to the other shadow layer, this made my card base.

I cut the remaining layers and adhered them together. I paper pieced the hat with pink and white star patterned paper and added some white mini star brads. I also used 2 yellow flower buttons with Glossy Accents.

For the inside of the card I cut 1 more layer but this time I hid the contour lines to leave me with just a outline. I then used Pink By Design’s Simply Everything and Country Living stamp sets for the sentiment.

I will be linking this to the Sarah Hamer’s Link Up Tuesday. Check out what everyone has been busy crafting away to this week.

Peachy Keen Challenge 32 – Sketch – Aug 2012

This week over at Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog a Sketch Challenge is going on. I love Peachy Keen stamps, since my drawing talent is stick men and stick woman.

Peachy Keen Challenge 32 – Sketch –  Aug 2012

So here is the card that I made:

I used the Cricut Lite Recess cartridge for the little school girl sitting at her desk. The cardstock comes from Recollections Back to School collection.

I used the Peachy Keen Wide Eyed Kids Assortment for her face. Then used my Sukura Gelly Roll Pen in White for her eyes and my Bic markers for the rest of the face.

The sentiment is from Pink By Design’s Simply Everything. This is a great stamp set full of sentiments for every occasion.

The Tree stamp is from a local Dollar store which I colored with Copics and added some Glossy Accents to the apple to give it shine.

The inside sentiment is from a Studio G set that I got at Michaels.

You should head on over to Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge Blog and check out the other entries, there are many very talented crafters out there.

Beetle to the Rescue!

This week on one of my adventures to Costco, I did something that was really silly. I was having rather a bad day and then… I locked my keys in the car along with my purse and cell phone. What a disaster… I can’t believe that I did that… really. I quickly ran around the car trying all the doors even the trunk but no luck, locked nice and tight. A little bit of panic set in and then I thought  I’d go to the tire center, maybe someone there can help me. No one to be found, I can hear them in the back but still no one comes out, now what???

I start walking back to my car when a yellow VW Beetle drives into the same aisle as me only 2 spots over… I wonder if they can help? So I made my way over and asked if they happen to have the number to the VW line (which is in the owners manual/which is in the locked car). Unfortunately they didn’t have the book in the car but they were members of BCAA.

Next thing I knew she was on the phone, calling them to help open my car. I can’t believe that they did that for me, I was so shocked and so thankful for their kindness. I wanted to repay them but they said it was fine and that they were glad they could help. It’s nice to know that there are still people out there that would help someone if they needed it and ask nothing in return.

I wanted to make them a Thank you card, so after I got into my car I wrote a quick note on a napkin, gave her my blog address and stuck it under the windshield blade. Hope they get a chance to see it, because I truly appreciate their generosity that day.

I made a different type of card this time, I made a twisted easel card.

I stamped my Imaginisce Vroom stamp in Memento Dandelion ink and then colored in with a yellow Copic.  I then stamped Thank you from the Pink By Design Here Comes the Bride stamp set. I added some Lemon Divine Twine and used the Beep Beep Cuttlebug folder for the tire tracks.

I used my Spellbinder’s Ovals and Scalloped Ovals and embossed the front sentiment. It is from the My Favorite Kind stamp set by Pink By Design. The inside sentiment is a stamp from Stampin’ Up.

So if you read this – here’s a BIG THANK YOU from me to you!

I will also be linking this to the Sarah Hamer’s Link Up Tuesday. Stop by and check out what everyone has been up to.

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone.

I just got home last week from a well deserved holiday and straight back to work I went. I didn’t want to leave the sun behind and head back to the real world but I had to.

Well this week was my friend’s birthday and every year we go camping to celebrate the occasion. Camp fire, food, drinks, stars and of course s’mores.

I bought her a balloon and whipped up this simple birthday card for her.

I used  Recollections cardstock and my Indentz Vine 1 folder to emboss the background, then stamped one of the butterflies from Inkadinkado Butterflies stamp set in StazOn Teal Blue ink. I decided to cut out the butterfly with the Spellbinders Peony Die set and added some popdots.

The sentiment is from Pink By Design’s Sibling Love stamp set, cut out with the Spellbinders Grommet Tags and attached using Divine Twine in Aqua.

The inside sentiment comes from Studio G, I think.

So here are some Butterfly Birthday Wishes!!!!

To another great year of new adventures and treasured memories.

I love my Dog!

I love my Dog! He’s not really my dog, he’s my neighbor’s dog but I love him too. It’s like having a dog but without any of the associated costs….. it’s great!

He comes and goes as he pleases, he knows he’s always welcome here.

Anytime I put something onto the BBQ, he’s right by my side giving me that face that says ” LOVE ME, LOVE ME, LOVE ME”. He’s too cute.

Often when I am outside working on a post he is lying quietly beside me, keeping me safe while I write away.

He is a great dog and I love him.

For this card I used Recollections cardstock and the Crafts Too – Bone and Paw Print Embossing Folder.

I used the Woof Woof Dog stamp set from Recollections that I got at Michaels with black embossing powder for both the dog and the sentiment. I used my Spellbinders Classic Inverted Scalloped Squares to cut out the dog and the Spellbinders Tag Trio for the sentiment. I added some color with my Bic markers and some popdots for dimension.

Then used my Stud/Deco Corner Chomper and added a few Recollections Paw brads and gave the dog a couple Bone brads.

For the inside sentiment I used the Pink by Design February Stamp of the Month Rain or Shine. Is that sentiment not perfect or what?!

I also stamped the fire hydrant on red cardstock and cut it out with my Honey Bee Scissors….couldn’t live without these..they are awesome!!!!

I will be entering this card in the Cardz TV Challenge #12 Anything Goes. You should head on over to Cardz TV and check out Mary and her new Design Team have been up to.
